When the ship is sailing, the fuel, cargo, food, drinking water, etc. on the ship are in the customized cabin. Ballast water tanks designed to adjust the navigation performance of the ship's trim, heel, draft, center of gravity and stability. During the operation of the ship, the load, life and fuel materials on the ship are changing. These changes will change the original ship draught, or the load before and after the change, which will affect the sailing performance of the ship.


In order to timely adjust the ship's stability problems caused by the changes in shipborne items, the designer designed a "ballast water tank", which is distributed in double bottom tank, fore peak tank, stern peak tank, side wing tank Or in deep water tanks.


Use the pump to suck or discharge the water in the tank to keep the ship's ballast normal and trim. This is the ship's ballast water system. For example, due to excessive unloading on the port side cargo tank and the loss of ballast on the port side, the vessel may tilt to the right. At this time, as long as water is injected into the port side tank, the original ballast is restored to make the vessel stable.


The ship's ballast water system is composed of ballast water pumps, ballast water pipelines, ballast water tanks and related valve parts and valve boxes. The system promptly and effectively injects, discharges or transfers the ballast water in each ballast tank to ensure:


(1) Maintain the proper displacement and draft of the ship, and maintain the vertical and horizontal balance of the hull;

(2) Maintain a stable height of the hull;

(3) Reduce the hull deformation and protect the hull from excessive bending moments and excessive shear forces;

(4) Reduce hull vibration;

(5) Improve the seaworthiness of ships' empty cabins.


/Pressure and level measurement/


The purpose of the ship's ballast water tank liquid level measurement is to transfer the ballast water in time according to the ship's operating conditions. The liquid level sensor continuously monitors the height of the water level in the water tank and sets the alarm threshold. The real-time water level data is monitored in real time and compared with the alarm value. Once the water level is too low, the water tank will be filled in time or the water level is too high to start drainage.


In the marine power plant piping system, in addition to the power system piping necessary for the normal navigation of the host, the piping of the ballast water system, bilge water system and water fire fighting system to ensure the safe operation of the ship are also important components.

All three systems use seawater as the medium and share a seawater main pipe. If necessary, the main seawater supply pump, fire pump or general pump can be shared. The pressure monitoring during this period ensures that the pipeline pressure is within a reasonable range so that the ballast tank can be filled or drained in a timely and effective manner.
