Problems of Pressure Measurement

1.Material selection: corrosive medium will cause serious corrosion to pressure measuring instruments made of ordinary metal, and cause damage to the key components of the instruments like sensors and diaphragms, which will shorten the service life of the instrument.

2.Measurement accuracy: The corrosive medium has high requirements on accuracy. The accuracy of the sensors should be stable, and the measurement should not be effected by the temperature changes to avoid misjudgment of the production process.
3.Security issues: The corrosive medium may leak and appear safety risk because of the sensor sealing problems in the process of production and storage. There remains a question, that is, how to improve the sealing structure of the sensor, and achieve safety.

Customer case

A customer in Chile took over a reservoir area reconstruction project of a small chemical industry. The reservoir area mainly stores highly concentrated sulfuric acid solution. In the past, the liquid level data mainly relies on manual inspection. It is time-consuming, labor-intensive and prone to safety accidents. Now, the real-time monitoring of the liquid level is needed, the storage amount of sulfuric acid should be grasped at any time, which helps to arrange production plans, and monitor liquid level to prevent flooding and safety accidents.


Solution

According to customer requirements, we recommend GPT235 anti-corrosion pressure transmitter. The pressure transmitter adopts PVDF housing shell, and E+H ceramic capacitance pressure sensor to achieve pressure measurement of the tanks. The data relationship between pressure and liquid level is converted into the liquid level data of the sulfuric acid tank to achieve real-time measurement of liquid level. The collected data is connected to customers’ PLC through 4~20mA signal, and achieve data visual management.
