The development of urban fire protection is closely related to the modernization process of the city. With the rapid development of the cities and the dense growth of the population, the importance of urban fire safety has become increasingly prominent. As complex building structures such as high rise buildings, large commercial complexes,and industrial plants continue to emerge in cities, the risk of fire is also increasing.

In urban fire fighting system, it is extremely important to ensure adequate and stable supply of firefighting water. Fire pools and water tanks are important storage facilities for fire water. Accurate level measurement monitoring acts key function on effective operation of firefighting system.


Industry issue

Traditional level measurement methods in the industry may has the problems such as low accuracy, untimely response, and insufficient reliability, which are difficult to meet the needs of modern urban fire fighting for efficiency, accuracy and reliability. To deal with the phenomenon, following two problems are facing,

1.Level monitoring:It is needed to monitor water tanks level of underground and the roof of high-rise building at fire stations, and transmit the level data to the Fire Command Center in real time. Therefore, the selected sensor should have the characteristics of anti-corrosion and long-term stability to adapt to the chemical additives that maybe contained in fire water.
2.Data processing:how to transmit sensor data to the monitoring platform in real time for fire command personnel to rapidly dispatch water supply vehicles or adjust supply strategies, and to ensure the effective configuration of fire fighting resources.


Solution

In response to the problems in the urban fire protection industry, we recommended customers to use submersible level sensor GLT500 to monitor and control liquid level of the water tanks. The product has the characteristics of high accuracy, small size, and good anti-corrosion because of stainless steel probe. With the display control instrument GPY119, the water level control function is realized. The pump is automatically started when the level is low, and automatically stopped when the level is high, so that the water level is always controlled at the optimal water level space. At the same time, the level information can be uploaded to the cloud platform through wireless module and realize data visualization management.

GLT500 submersible level transmitter adopts fully-welded technology,the contact part of the product don’t have sealing ring, which avoids water leakage because of sealing ring failure.The entire sensor is front mounted, which eliminates the problems of easy clogging of the liquid inlet hole where the sealing ring is installed. The diaphragm is easy to clean and the installation and maintenance are simple.
